Applications 1.Do you understand the absolute way John describes the nature of God with: God is light? 2.In truth, do you have a serious or casual view of sin in your own life? If casual, what does 1 John say to you? Your claim to know God is tested by your attitude toward sin. 3.Your walk needs to match your talk. Does it? 4.Living in darkness is incompatible with fellowship with God.

Applications 5. Apply the positive things of vs 7 and How has God dealt with your sin? 7. John’s heart cries out to his little children as he writes so that they [you and I] do not sin.
