Every day in school, Teachers provide your child with instructions on the learning competencies prescribed by the Department of Education.

For grading purposes and to reinforce learning, teachers use various assessment tools.

Your child’s grades depend on how he or she performs in recitations, assignments, quizzes and tests.

ABLe Solutions’ Competency Mastery Programs are after- school activities designed for your child to get better grades. This presentation shows you how the Programs work.

To illustrate, let’s say that for today, your child receives classroom instructions on the competency entitled “Make verbs agree with their subjects.”

After school, your child logs in to ABLe Solutions’ learning management website and opens the module entitled “Make verbs agree with their subjects.”

This module, like all modules in the Program, is researched, designed and developed by outstanding and experienced English Teachers and is thoroughly tested to achieve mastery.

The module is divided into the following sections: Introduction Test-taking strategy Quiz Remediation

In the introduction section, your child reads a brief review on the competency.

In the test-taking strategy section, your child reads about the best way to answer test questions on the competency.

In the quiz section, your child answers test questions.

Whether answered correctly or incorrectly, every test question is followed by an explanation showing how the test-taking strategy should be applied so that your child sees if he or she has applied it properly in answering the question.

This way, your child develops a critical thinking ability for answering test questions of this type.

Your child does this at least 10 times and repeats the process until a perfect score is achieved.

If your child experiences difficulties in achieving a perfect score, the remediation section directs your child to re-read the textbook and, if necessary, discuss the difficulty with the Teacher.

When your child achieves a perfect score on the quiz, your child has mastered the competency.

By mastering the competency, your child gets better grades on assignments, recitations, quizzes and tests on the competency.

By mastering all the competencies on the subject, your child gets better grades on the subject.

Your child will also get better grades on the subject in the National Achievement Test and in college entrance tests such as ACET and UPCAT.

English is the main medium of instruction in your child’s school.

Your child’s textbooks are likewise written in English.

To master competencies in English reading, listening, viewing and speaking as well as competencies in Math, Science and other subjects, your child needs a solid foundation in English Grammar and Vocabulary.

This is why ABLe Solutions is initially providing your child the Competency Mastery Program for Grade 7 English Grammar and Vocabulary.

The Program is aligned with the Department of Education’s curriculum guide for K-12 and is divided into three categories: English Grammar Review Grade 7 English Grammar Competencies Grade 7 English Vocabulary Competencies Grammar Review Grammar Competencies Vocabulary Competencies

The first category covers selected competencies learned in Grade 6. The modules are used to prepare your child for mastering Grade 7 English Grammar learning competencies.

The second category consists of modules used by your child to master Grade 7 English Grammar learning competencies.

The third category consists of modules used by your child for mastering Grade 7 English Vocabulary learning competencies.

The Competency Mastery Program for Grade 7 English Grammar and Vocabulary is available to your child for the current academic year for a highly affordable PHP monthly fee.

For the next academic year, your child moves up to the Competency Mastery Program for Grade 8 English Grammar and Vocabulary for the same monthly fee.

In addition to giving your child an effective tool for getting better grades, the Program also enables you to cut down on private tutoring costs.

If your child needs private tutoring, your child’s tutor uses the Program modules to prepare your child for tutoring sessions. This results in faster and dramatic progress for your child, fewer tutoring sessions and, therefore, lower tutoring fees.
