The World Programme of Action for Youth Adopted in 1995 Identifies fifteen priority areas with concrete proposals for action within each Provides a policy framework and practical guidelines to improve the situation of youth

Expert Group Meeting on Quantitative Indicators for the Programme of Action Convened in response to a request from the UN GA’s High Level Meeting on Youth, in the context of Resolution A/65/312 Requested a set of possible indicators for the Programme of Action, in order to assist Member States in assessing the situation of youth Organized by UNDESA Division for Social Policy and Development, with DESA’s Statistics Division and Population Division

Expert Group Meeting Outcomes Concluded with a list of 34 core and 15 supplemental indicators in the following priority areas: – Education – Employment – Hunger and poverty – Health, including reproductive health – Drug abuse and juvenile delinquency – Globalization – Information and communication technology – HIV/AIDS – Girls and young women
