The American Revolution The Boston Massacre The Boston Tea Party The Stamp Act

The Stamp act was an unpopular tax. The purpose for this was to raise money for the British Army after the year It forced the colonists to pay a tax every time they bought any paper things. A few examples were news papers, pamphlets, or any legal document that is signed. The profits for this tax were sent to England and not throughout the colonies. The colonies were very mad because they weren’t represented in the British government. The saying was “No taxation without representation is tyranny”. Also the colonists were really mad because the British had no right to tax on them. A group called the Sons of Liberty protested the taxes. Also the assembly in Virginia announced that the Stamp Act is illegal and unjust. It wasn’t fair.

When the colonists didn’t want to pay taxes on tea they often boycotted. Boycott means to refuse to do business with a person, group, or country. One night a group called the Mohawks crept toward the Boston Harbor. They said “Boston will be a teapot tonight”. They first boarded a ship and then dropped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. They did this because the wanted to avoid payment on a British tax on tea. This event was the Boston tea Party. The colonists had now strengthened and the movement of the American Independence by the British response.. This is what happened when the Boston Tea Party took place.

Church bells rang while a enormous group of colonists met outside the Customs House. Some of the redcoats were attacking. Someone who warned the colonists was Crispus Attucks. He was a former slave who yelled “the way to get rid of these soldiers is to attack the main guard.” The British soldiers fired while a confusion they followed. While the Boston Massacre five men where killed including Attucks. The people in Boston were depressed and horrified. As soon as possible the people began to spread news because they wanted the public’s opinion against the British. This name came the speechmakers. This name was used to help the colonists against the troops. The Boston Massacre was horrible.

There are the a lot of battles that led to the American Revolution. These were only three of the many battles. People were killed and didn’t have any hope. Although the battles the colonists went through they didn’t lost every battle. Their were also amazing heroes during these battles. There were even women who fought in the battles. The Stamp Act wasn’t the only act that made colonists pay taxes. The Boston Massacre was not happy. People were very heartbroken. Last the Boston Tea Party was very unfunny. The British were very angry. These are only one of the three battles that led to the American Revolution.
