DEFINITION Pressure is the force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area. SI unitPascalPascal (Pa) p = F / AFA Where p is the pressure. F is the force excreted. A is the Area.

PRESSURE UNITS

TYPES OF PRESSURE Fluid pressure Vapour pressure Liquid pressure Atmospheric pressure Blood pressure Etc…

PRESSURE MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS

DPC-L100/DPH-L100 Digital pressure sensor designed for high-precision detection of fluid and air pressure. Rated pressure range: 0- 1MPa Ambient temperature -20 to +70 °C [1]

BMP180 Manufactured by Pressure range: hPa (+9000m m relating to sea level) Supply voltage: V (VDD) Operating temperature: -40 to +85 °C [2]

Typical application circuit

MDPS002 Air Pressure Sensor Pressure Range 15psi ; 100psi ( Absolute pressure ) Working Voltage 5VDC or constant current. Accuracy ±0.2%FS Operating Temperature ℃ Application Weather Forecast; Altimeter; Pressure Gauge; Pneumatic Control Equipment [3]

MPL115A1 Digitized pressure and temperature information together with programmed calibration coefficients for host micro use. Factory Calibrated 50 kPa to 115 kPa Absolute Pressure 1 kPa Accuracy V to 5.5 V Supply [4]

Application Examples Barometry (portable and desk-top) Altimeters Weather Stations Hard Disk-Drives (HDD) Industrial Equipment Health Monitoring Air Control Systems Fig: Application circuit

MPX4115 Altimeter/Barometer Pressure Sensor ï 1.5% Maximum Error over 0° to 85° Ideally suited for Microprocessor or Microcontroller-Based Systems. Pressure range: 15KPa to 115KPa. Supply voltage: 4.85 to 5.35VDC

The Merit Sensor Blood Pressure sensor The Merit Sensor Blood Pressure sensor is ideal for low cost, high-volume, disposable medical applications including blood pressure monitoring. Pressure range of -30 to 300 mmHg

APPLICATIONS Disposable blood pressure measurement Kidney dialysis machines Infusion pumps Surgical procedures

CONCLUSION Conventional pressure sensing systems cannot be used for measuring wide range of pressures. Our system aims to meet these limitations so as to provide better pressure sensing system. Moreover, it can be considered to be approximately an end to end system.
