Statement of the Problem There are a number of problems in the existing manual working system.  Existing System is Manual Management System.  Unauthorized user can access the system that lead to security problem.  Difficulty of access to information of CEP for the users.  Wastage of resources in both the offices and students.  Students file controlling mechanism is tedious and complicated. Cont... Unnecessary duplication of data. It is difficult to get reliable report about the CEP students Miss placement of students result i.e. Assigning one’s result to another. Cont…  The system allows registrar unit to add courses  It also includes an attractive user interface that facilitates accessing the website of BHU CEP Managment system.  The system can calculate comulative GPA.  The system allows registrar unit to add courses  It also includes an attractive user interface that facilitates accessing the website of BHU CEP Managment system.  The system can calculate comulative GPA.

Objective of the Project General objectives The general objective of the project is to develop web based continuing education program management system for BHU. Specific objectives  To analysis the existing system problem.  To identify the requirement of the new system.  To design the new system(that used to solve the problem of the existing system).  To design a user friendly system(attractive and easy to use the system). Cont…  Deliver the new system to the user.  Avoiding data redundancy by creating a database.  Keeping students information permanently and up-to-date.  Minimizing user’s expense of money and time.  Developing and implementing a new system that meets the goals of the project.  Deliver the new system to the user.  Avoiding data redundancy by creating a database.  Keeping students information permanently and up-to-date.  Minimizing user’s expense of money and time.  Developing and implementing a new system that meets the goals of the project.

Significance of the project  It minimizes the workload of students, CEP and registrar office workers. Because the system will be able to perform all activities.  The system allows searching and updating any selective information easily. It does not take time to retrieve data as the existing system.  It minimizes the workload of students, CEP and registrar office workers. Project constraint The new system focuses on the continuing education which includes weekend and summer programs. Generally our project has the following constraints. o The new system doesn’t support online examination. o The new system doesn’t include class scheduling. o The new system is not Assign instructors. o The new system will not Pay salary for instructors. Project development constraint  Limited information availability.  Insufficient internet access.  Power fluctuation.  Do not have enough computer to work our project.  the interviewed person is not found at a specified time.  Limited information availability.  Insufficient internet access.  Power fluctuation.  Do not have enough computer to work our project.  the interviewed person is not found at a specified time.

Data collection methods The methods used to achieve for the development of the project based on the organization perspective that meet their business procedure. We use the following methodology to gather the information. The methods used to achieve for the development of the project based on the organization perspective that meet their business procedure. We use the following methodology to gather the information.

Interview We use interview to get information about the existing system for developing our project. We use this type of data gathering technique to directly ask the manager of the CEP director ato Kite Bedaso and the CEP expert ato Kasahun Kebede.

On job observation We conduct by personally observing how the existing system works. We will see the actual events which will happen in the CEP office and note down the events what we observe. Analyzing the existing document We also perform the mechanism of document review to understand the existing working system. For example how the students register, the way of finance, and the way how payment is performed in the existing system are clearly view the documents.

System development and Analysis methodology There are different types of system development approach like : o structured approach and o object oriented approach among those we use a detail object oriented design. Modeling techniques used in object oriented analysis are UML (Unified modeling language).
