The top lot of the sale, based on pre-sale estimates, was a ring with blue and pink diamonds from luxury jeweler, Moussaieff. The centerpiece of the ring is a 5.28-carat fancy intense green diamond surrounded by pink diamonds. 5

Other auction highlights included a pair of colored diamond earrings, each of which is set with an oval fancy purplish-pink diamond and surrounded by colorless diamonds. Also sold was a rare colored diamond bracelet, made with oval pink diamonds, one oval-shaped blue diamond and circular-cut fancy vivid purplish-pink diamonds. 6

The first half of 2017 has seen record-breaking sales of several notable and valuable colored diamonds, Paragon International Wealth Management's King mentioned. He cited the record-breaking sale of the "Pink Star" diamond for $71.2 million at Sotheby's in April 2017, as well as a pair of fancy colored diamond earrings -- one pink, one blue -- which sold for $57 million at Sotheby's in May this year. 7
