MERITA Methodology to Evaluate Radiaton in Information Technology Application TECHNICAL PRESENTATION
MERITA Effort in person months: –Bull IT: 24 p/m – H.D.T Italia: 14.5 p/m Type of the project: Demonstration project Duration: fithteen months May 98 to July 99 Project team: Bull IT S.p.A prime contractor: end-user H.D.T Italia s.r.l partner: software tool vendor
MERITA General overview Bull IT designs Unix Platforms with Risc Processor: –clock frequency>100 MHz In order to prevent some EMC problems: –prediction of radiated emission due to component current loop –Filtering optimization
MERITA Objectives Show the viability of a prototype tool, named PRESTO_POWER ver. 1.1 to perform: –predictive analysis and screening of EMC problems on PCB –extraction, analysis, improvement of critical paths –experimental validation of the tool Integration with the design methodology inside Bull IT
MERITA Main results Improvement of the design and analysis of PCB in IT application Product control at each development phase Viability of the prototype tool PRESTO_POWER test on an actual case
