Surgical Oncologist These oncologists are specialists in curing cancer by operating the patient. During surgery, these oncologists remove cancer tumours and the affected tissues, to cut-down chances of getting re-affected by cancer. Surgical oncologists are also required to perform certain biopsies for accurate diagnose of cancer. Biopsy often requires removal of a small portion of a tissue for a microscopic examination. Radiation Oncologist Radiation therapy is used by radiation oncologists to cure cancer. This therapy works by using high energy radiations, such as x-rays or proton rays to eliminate cancer cells. Pediatric Oncologist These oncologists specialises in the treatment of cancer among children. There are certain types of cancers, such as leukemia, specific type of brain tumors & osteosarcoma, which finds its roots majorly in children however, there occurance among adults cannot be denied.

Gynecologic Oncologist Gynecologic cancers, such as cervical & uterine cancer are treated by these oncologists.
