Ireland Brianna Gandolfo

Day 1: The Journey Begins The day started off bright and cheery. I was excited to start my day Everyone showed up to the airport in their best sweat pants, leggings, and sweatshirts for the long day of traveling. I also got an added bonus of sitting next to a smelly guy with bad breath.

Day 2: Arrival in Dublin We arrive in Dublin and get our bags. We head to the oldest tombs in the world and see the famous Trim castle before heading to our hotel to turn in for the night.

Day 3: Whiskey is good Our day started off at Grange research center. Everyone had a hard time staying awake but it was great learning about Irish Agriculture. Ballard organic farm was next. The cookies were incredible and the farmer was very informative. Our last stop was a tour of the Tullamore whiskey factory. Favorite part: Whiskey tasting!

Day 4: Beautiful Ireland Today we visited a tomb older than the pyramids of Egypt. We then made way to my favorite spot the cliffs of Moher. Our bus guide Patrick then took us to a secret spot said to be the most beautiful place in Ireland.

Day 5: Farms for days. We started off at the beautiful Muckross house. We also visited the farm next to the house and learned how families lived in the old days. Pictures were not allowed at the house unfortunately. We also stopped at the Kissane sheep farm. They sheered a sheep for us, and the demonstrated how a sheep dog herds sheep.

Day 6: Kerry’s beautiful ring Courtesy of Patrick, we got to see another sheep dog show. This is said to be the best in Ireland. It definitely was good! Our day was mostly spent driving the ring of Kerry. It’s basically a giant circle of beautiful scenery and it did not disappoint. Our last destination was blarney castle where I kissed the blarney stone!

Day 7: Galileo We visited the famous Coolmore stud ranch. It was an honor to be around such famous horses like Galileo. Next we visited the Jameson whiskey factory. The rest was spent in the town of cork!

Day 8: Animals of Ireland! We started off at another dairy farm and since it was grass based this farm was beautiful! Next we went to a pig production farm which was great to learn about. The day ended at the Rock of Cashel. This is where St. Patrick was baptized.

Day 9: Waterford! This was a fun day of exploring the medival Waterford museum, the Waterford crystal factory, and we ended the day at Enniscorthy castle. There was also a cool ship!

Day 10: A day of Beauty Hook Lighthouse was our first destination and it was a beautiful view and experience. Next we visited the JFK arboretum. This was a great drive for us and a nice tribute to our past president. The last stop was Kilkenny castle which is also known as the castle of my dreams!

Day 11: I’m sick of horses. We visited two horse ranches today. Kildangan Stud, and Irish stud. Both were glorious and a fun experience. Our day ended attending the Irish derby. This was my first derby so I was very excited and it was a great experience.

Day 12: Road to Dublin We started off at another dairy! This dairy is responsible for Bailey’s Irish cream and that stuff is good. Next we visited Glendalough. This place was beautiful. After that, we made way for the great city of Dublin!

Day 13: I Love Dublin!! Dublin University was our first stop. I have no interest in attending this school, but it was cool to see an Irish college. Next we visited Trinity college and the Book of Kells. The library was breath taking! Next we visited the Guinness factory. We got to taste the beer and see a view of all of Dublin. WE ended out last night by hitting the pubs for one last memory!

Day 13: I Love Dublin!! The Guinness factory, Trinity College, Dublin University, and a night out.

Day 14: Return the United States. Flights were cancelled, but I’m a rock star so I got us home quick! We traveled for about 12 hours this day and soon were back in great old Oklahoma!
