Activity since August 2015 Technical demonstrations at EMCUK, Oct 2015 AGM and technical presentations, Dec 2015 - University of Westminster EMC standards, EM aspects of safety, interference control in audio, art appreciation for engineers(!) - followed by networking meeting Technical presentations, Mar 2016 - Ofcom London Intentional EMI, ESD control, calibration of field probes in non-sinusoidal fields, broadcast receiver requirements under Radio Equipment Directive Technical presentations, May 2016 - University of York University EMC research (6 papers) plus a view from Industry on problems to be solved Technical presentations and museum visit, Jul 2016 - Brooklands Museum New EMCD and RED updates, developments in CENELEC standards, antenna and site calibration above 1 GHz, Considering the third dimension in high speed printed wiring boards Future: Technical meetings Oct and Dec 2016

Best Practices A mixture of technical, standardisation and regulatory papers at each meeting Not a single theme Five meetings per year = 20 presentations (at least) Geographical spread of locations for meetings Two-year rotation of Chapter Chairs Succession planning and mentoring Social event after December AGM and technical meeting In a traditional London pub

Not all good news Micromanagement of chapters 2016 - Significant interference from geographical unit New section chair Micromanagement of chapters Required to produce “revitalisation” plan (even if no revitalisation needed) Required to take part in up to 24 web meetings per year (plus two face to face) Bullying of some Chapter Chairs and other Section ExCom members Section seeking to replace some Chapter Chairs without Society involvement Don’t want to go into details for this presentation, but Has any other Chapter experienced anything like this? What did you do about it? Talk about it afterwards?

Thank you Any questions?
