Mission & Vision TUNEM is an international professional master degree program for training high-level engineering and management talents in the field of nuclear power. Pursuing for excellent applicants with well-behaved personality, outstanding academics, and global vision, who are willing to continue their graduate studies in China and, later, to make contributions to the cooperation between china and their motherland.

Program Background Nuclear energy is a low-carbon, efficient and economical energy source. Over the past three decades,China has made great achievements in the R&D of nuclear power, developing several world-leading advanced reactors such as Hualong-1, CAP1400, and high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR). 

Program Background China is willing to share the achievement and experience in the R&D of nuclear power with other countries for a World of Peace, Stability and Sustainable Development. The sharing is not only in exporting advanced technology,equipment、 and management to other countries, but also in talent development in the fields of nuclear power. Lao Tsu said that if you give a hungry man a fish, you feed him for a day, but if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.

Program Background With the support from China’s Ministry of Education and National Energy Administration and the collaboration with CNNC, CGN and SPIC, Tsinghua University initialed the TUNEM program this year and 30 international applicants will be admitted in this program in 2017.

Why Tsinghua University Nuclear Science and technology in Tsinghua University is the No.1 in China and also in the forefront of the world. The year 2016 marks the 60th anniversary of Department of Engineering Physics (DEP), which trained thousands of alumnus in the nuclear science and technology Institute for Nuclear and New Energy Technology (INET) conducted the advanced HTGR technology . Nearly 100 international students came from Canada, Germany, Pakistan, France, Morocco, Jordan and North Korea graduated from Tsinghua U. As UTM run the first and only Bachelor of Nuclear Engineering program in Malysia，Tsinghua is the earliest university to build the discipline of nuclear science and technology, which is on 1956.

Curriculum – Chinese language and culture The program tailors Chinese language and culture courses though it’s an English program, for Chinese knowledge and culture will be helpful for students to make a good career choice. In order to well understand Chinese culture, the program provides on-the- spot investigation and various exchange activities.
