Technology in the Classroom E-Learning, Blended Learning and Flipped Classrooms Technology in the Classroom
Agenda: E-Learning Seminar Groups Classroom Websites
E-Learning E-Learning is the term applied to learning that takes place remotely, through the use of technology. Today it is a given that Distance Education is delivered by some degree through E-learning. Technology has always been a part of this process: School of the Air
E-Learning Today, most E-Learning is delivered through a “Learning Management System” (LMS). An LMS can be used in varying degrees: As a supplement to a face-to-face learning environment As a means of communication between student and teacher (no face-to-face) As an assessment/learning/evaluating tool (no teacher required)
How does an LMS work: Odds are that you already use an LMS… Many Universities use them as administrative tools. An LMS that delivers learning content will: Pre-assess the user (sometimes) Guide the student through a learning task Evaluate and report

Flipped and Blended… E-learning can be incorporated into face-to-face learning models. Flipped learning refers to a classroom model in which most of the “transmission” of knowledge/instruction occurs through e-learning, while face-to-face learning is hands-on, collaborative, demonstrative, etc. Blended learning is a deliberate combination of face-to-face and e-learning models
