Do Not Hide Your Light Matthew 5:14-16 -- You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven

A City Set On A Hill Villages in Palestine at that time were typically situated on hills and could be seen from a great distance. Christians should be noticeable in just that kind of way.

Hide It Under A Bushel? Luke 11:33-36 – “No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its ray.”

Modern Day Bushels What fills our bodies with darkness? What we read? What we watch? What we think? Who we count as our friends? Unholy attitudes?

Through The Gospel 2 Corinthian 4:6 -- For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
