Apostles’ Creed The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

Apostles’ Creed I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Why Do We Need God? A Source: The Love of God (1 John 4:7-19) A Purpose: The Joy of Following Christ (Philippians 3:1-16) A Destiny: The Hope of Glory (Romans 8:18-30)

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Destination: Where are We Going? Why do We Need God?

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Destination: Where are We Going?

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Destination: Where are We Going? “Serving [the believers] will be immortal youths with jeweled and crystal cups filled with the purest wine which will neither give them headache nor hangover, with fruits and meats of their desire. They will be fair ones with lovely intense eyes like guarded pearls; A reward for the good deeds of their past life.” (56:17-24)

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Destination: Where are We Going? Nirvana: literally means "blown out", as in an oil lamp. In the Buddhist context, nirvana refers to realization of non-self and emptiness, marking the end of rebirth by stilling the fires that keep the process of rebirth going.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Path: Is it Worth it?

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Path: Is it Worth it? Isaiah 65:17 - “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Path: Is it Worth it? Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory The Path: Is it Worth it? Hebrews 11:1, 6 1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Firstfruits: Tasting the Future Harvest Romans 8:16 - The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, John 16:3 - When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, 1 Corinthians 12:4 - Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Firstfruits: Tasting the Future Harvest John 14:15-17 15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Firstfruits: Tasting the Future Harvest Exodus 2:24-25 24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Firstfruits: Tasting the Future Harvest 1 John 2:5-6 By this we may know that we are in Him: 6 whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Firstfruits: Tasting the Future Harvest Jeremiah 1:5 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Firstfruits: Tasting the Future Harvest Ephesians 1 He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will… …as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Firstfruits: Tasting the Future Harvest Ephesians 1 11 In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Experiencing and Sharing our Hope

A Destiny: The Hope of Glory Experiencing and Sharing our Hope Looking back: Source We find the love we need in our Heavenly Father Looking at life now: Purpose We find joy in knowing & following Jesus Looking ahead: Destiny We find peace in the Spirit as we await our glorious renewal

Communion 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 The Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread,  and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said,  “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”  In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying,  “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
