Our Father: a reflection on the prayer our savior taught us
Our Father
Our Father: we are connected with each other
Our Father: we are not alone
Our Father: we belong to one family
Our Father: we are connected with each other we are not alone we belong to one family
Who art in Heaven
Who art in Heaven: God dwells in accessible Light, Far above and beyond us, yet we are invited to intimate communion with Him
forever and ever.
Hallowed be Thy Name
Hallowed be Thy Name: God alone is Holy
Hallowed be Thy Name: God alone is Holy God alone is Good
Hallowed be Thy Name: God alone is Holy God alone is Good We aspire to be like Him.
Thy Kingdom Come Not just a prayer – a job for us to do
Thy Kingdom Come: We are to help build His Kingdom through the right use of our free will
Thy Will be done on Earth – as it is in Heaven.
This life on Earth is not all there is.
Our life can continue in Heaven where the communion of saints and angels await our arrival.
Give us this day our daily bread
We can trust God to provide what we need every day of our lives
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
Forgiveness is a hallmark of His followers and a requirement to receive mercy.
And lead us not into temptation
God is good and does not trick us or tempt us or try us beyond our strength
He helps us to be good by giving us His grace.
But deliver us from evil. Amen.
We trust God to protect us from that which is dangerous to us - seen and unseen.
