You will need a black marker

your words are read in a particular If you want to be sure your words are read in a particular order, include an arrow into the poem like this  However, it must be done neatly and minimally. Consider adding a visual to your final product.

Your mission: Transform this text into a poem by isolating words that you like and blacking out the other words. Like a potter removes clay, you will remove words to create something new. Where do you start? Step 1: You begin by underlining or circling words you like in pen. Step 2: Take a look at your words. What can you create from those words? Step 3: Begin removing the extraneous words with your marker.

Ominous- giving the impression that something bad or unpleasant is going to happen; threatening; inauspicious: foreboding; portending harm.

Rush of death in the still air, . . . Without any sound. Owl flies in woods  .  .  . Rush of death in the still air,   .  .  .  Without any sound. To see with black eyes, Little angels fall from sky, Always on dark wings. I'm scared by the lack of monsters under my bed. Because if they aren't there now, When will they be back? clouds build grey veil shields lingering light vigil of silence

Directions Create an ominous poem focusing on word choice and tone.
