CERTIFICATION LEGISLATION Legislation passed in 2004/2005 Institutions must certify insurance coverage for athletically-related injuries sustained during covered events Must be equal or greater than Catastrophic program deductible Can be provided through: Parents’ or guardians’ insurance; Student-athlete’s insurance; or Institution’s insurance

CERTIFICATION LEGISLATION (continued) Does institution have to provide the insurance? No, compliance will vary by institution. PROGRAM BENEFITS Medical Benefits Disability Benefits Includes medical, dental, rehabilitation and custodial care Disability Benefits Includes disability payments, adjustment expenses, special expenses, college education expenses, and vocational rehabilitation expenses Death Benefit ($25,000) Maximum Lifetime Benefit is $20M

REPORTING OF CATASTROPHIC INJURIES Report serious injuries that may exceed the policy deductible to American Specialty the next business day following the injury
