Introduction to Mystery method and pick-up techniques

What is an pick-up artist (PUA)? Video from TV series: The Mentalist The book “The Game” (by Neil Strauss) has revealed secrets of the PUA society. The man “Mystery”, the creator of social dynamics theories, is the most famous PUA worldwide.

Mystery’s M3 model Three stages: Attract, comfort, seduce Each stage also has 3 sub-stages. The biggest mistake: most people start from comfort, which usually leads to normal friendship. Once you are in the “friends zone”, it is difficult to switch to “lovers zone”. Being like a slave is even worse. We only fall in love with someone we respect. To be a PUA, you need to attract someone from the very beginning.

Dilemma 1: If I am not sure whether I like this person (because the only thing I know is that he/she looks good), should I still attract him/her from the beginning? You need to find the answer for yourself A real PUA is able to attract someone for a long/short term relation, and only good memories remain even if the relation dies.

Dilemma 2: I have a high standard Dilemma 2: I have a high standard. Only very beautiful/handsome persons can attract me. Should I lower my standard? You don’t need to apologize for having a standard. Do you apologize for preferring eating an apple rather than banana? Dilemma 3: If I apply these techniques, I will be like a bad guy/girl. Why can’t I just be myself?

Pick-up techniques: from conversation to contact info. Peacock theory: dress up, decoration, pets, magic, showing interesting stuff. Favor or question asking: Could you watch my bag for me? We are taking the course: charisma, so could you do us a favor by telling us your opinions? Direct and honest expression. Surprise, cocky and funny.

Tips on getting contact info. Confidence: we are meant to know each other! Don’t ask yes/no questions, only questions implying yes. Directly take out your cell phone or pen, and be ready to save/write down the contact info. Always have an event (performance, concert, …) for indirect invitation.

Pick-up techniques: important things to remember Attitude, attitude, attitude! Location, location, location! (a location with mutual interest, e.g. certain activities, election campaign, temples) Help from wings (friends who can increase your value).

Pick-up techniques: important things to remember Success-guaranteed lines do Not exist! Three-second (or maximally 30 seconds) rule. Negging (negating) and potential risks. Adding time constraint (the way to lower the defense; super important!) Notice how much more time you have.
