Southeast Area Technical High School Proposed School Name Southeast Area Technical High School (SEA-TECH) Because of the location of the school and its relation to the “Southeast Region,” this name was selected to move forward with state documentation and marketing purposes. SEA- TECH as a shortened abbreviation of the school name is a very easy name to remember and favors well with students and parents.

Survey Results Targeting right programs of interest: Health Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing and Computer Engineering among the top three Both 8th grade parents AND students are interested in the concept and would consider this an opportunity for their high school education Job shadowing, WBL and tuition free opportunities to earn credentials among the top reasons of interest Extra-Curricular and the ability to participate in athletics was a priority

Application/Selection Process Targeting 8th grade students Marketing has begun (Counselors and MS Principals are aware of option) Recruitment and formal Student/Parent/Community presentations to begin at the first of the year (or sooner) Application to consist of demographic info, career goal essay, interview and a teacher/counselor recommendation. Rubrics have been created.
