Ethernet Utilities & Software SECTION 7 - Ethernet Utilities and Software This section will give you a brief overview of the ESTeem troubleshooting procedures.

ESTeem Discovery Program SECTION 7 - Ethernet Utilities and Software Designed to configure regardless of IP address on computer Will display 195E by Ethernet MAC address Configures IP Address to 195E Update Firmware Open Web Browser to 195E Computer must have IP address (DHCP connection or fixed IP address) Designed to displaced connected ESTeem only Troubleshooting The first consideration is to verify that there is RS-232 communication. Next is to verify the ESTeem commands are correct for the application that is being utilized. Then the swr needs to be tested, start at the modem end first. If there is a bad reading on the swr, then attach the bird meter to the antenna end to verify if the cable is bad or the antenna is. Then the signal strength needs to measured. Finally conduct a polling diagnostic test.

Narrowband Utility Software Imbedded in New Flash Discovery Utility Used for programming Model 195C, 195H and 195M Basic and advanced programming Programming Software Diagnostic Utility Console Mode Spectrum Analyzer Diagnostics and Troubleshooting Firmware Updates

ESTeem Network Configuration (ENC) Network connections drag and drop Visual Programming Software Programming with ESTeems connected to switch Programming one then another On-Line or Off-Line Network Configurations Firmware Updates SSID Frequency Network Wide Changes

ESTeem EtherStation Status ESTeem has no IP address Only way to find status information from 195E Only Functions in EtherStation Mode Wireless MAC or Modem ID of Access Point Receive signal strength Will Display Current Connection Status If configured for wrong connected computer MAC, utility will reprogram ESTeem to match Will Change Programming of EtherStation 195E

Simple Network Management Protocol SNMP Universal computer network management protocol High memory 195E required (195E – 2) Wireless Network Management Items Receive signal strength RF data rate Time of last update Management Information Base (MIB) Tables downloaded from ESTeem about menu Complete list of MIB items available in manual

IGMP Snooping Global (UDP) Traffic On Wireless Bridge Unicast packet created for each repeater peer IGMP Snooping for Global Packet Steering Repeater Peer Connections Clients Packet Encapsulation IGMP Snooping on mobile devices All Configured in Advanced Menu

VLAN Pass-through Virtual LAN (V-LAN) Traffic Unique Ethernet packet Segmenting networks in data blocks ESTeem 195E Will “Pass-Through” All VLAN Traffic 195E Does Not Function as VLAN Switch Only two Ethernet ports available Easier on network hardware

ESTeem Network Monitor (ENM) Visual Interface for Network Monitoring Receive signal strength RF Data Rate Networking routing in Mesh Uses ENC Network Layout Export ENC file Discover new network Uses SNMP MIB Table 195E series -2 only
