Welcome to Symplicity Hello and welcome to the Career and Professional Development’s tutorial on Symplicity.

Symplicity is NSU College of Law’s online portal for many of the Career and Professional Developments’ career-related services for students, alumni, and employers. Through Symplicity, students and alumni can search job postings, apply to opportunities, and download helpful career resources. 1 2 3

To access Symplicity, please visit the Career and Professional Development page on NSU College of Law’s website, and click on the Job Board tab on the middle of the page. 1 2

Once you are on the Symplicity webpage, you will need to log in Once you are on the Symplicity webpage, you will need to log in. As a student/alumni click on the Student Alumni icon. Your username will be your NSU email address and your password will be a password link generated by Symplicity. Please note this password link is only good for a short time. So you may need to click on the Forgot Password Button to reset your password. Symplicity will then generate another password link and send it to your NSU email address, where you will have to log in and retrieve it. 1 2

In the profile tab you should input and update all required fields In the profile tab you should input and update all required fields. Current students should always keep their profile up-to-date with information and application documents, as this is how the Career and Professional Development Office will contact you. Remember to always save all updates and changes made to your account. 1 2 3

Now that you have logged in and updated your profile, you can begin uploading documents to your account. Students typically upload their resume, cover letters, writing samples, and transcripts. To add a document to your account, click on the Document Upload tab, then Approved. From here, click the ‘add new’ button. You will then be taken to a new screen where you can upload a document. Once you have uploaded a document you will be able to view it under the Document Upload tab. 1 2 3

The next tab is the Online Job Board Tab The next tab is the Online Job Board Tab. From your Symplicity homepage, if you click on the Online Job Board Tab, you will see several sub-tabs. The first sub-tab is the Online Job Board Positions Tab. This is where you will find job opportunities, including those posted by employers specifically for NSU Law students and alumni. 1 2

Once you find a position you would like to apply for, click on that particular job posting. This will take you to the job description page where you can see greater detail about the posting. In addition to the outside resources listed on your Symplicity homepage, there are several other outside resources listed under the Online Job Board Tab. These sub-tab resources are helpful when looking for opportunities while in law school and after graduation. 1 2 3

One way to search for opportunities is to participate in OCI One way to search for opportunities is to participate in OCI. OCI is short for On-Campus Interviewing. This is a recruiting event in which employers seek qualified candidates for open positions. To search and apply to an OCI position, click on the OCI Tab. This will take you to a new page where you will choose the appropriate OCI Session. Once you select the appropriate OCI Session, you will be able to see all participating employers who are seeking candidates at your class level. If you see a job you would like to apply for, click on the review tab to learn which documents that employer requires for review. 1 2 3

Pay particular attention to the deadlines for OCI so that you do not miss out on an opportunity. Upon being selected to interview by an OCI employer, you will be notified by the Career and Professional Development Office via email. Once you receive this email, you should immediately log into your Symplicity account, click on the OCI Tab and reserve a timeslot for your interview.

There is a lot of useful information on Symplicity when it comes to searching for opportunities and applying to postings, and OCI is just one of them. Please keep in mind the Career and Professional Development Office is always available for questions and to assist you along your particular career path. Please stop by the Career and Professional Development Office or email us at law-careerdevelopment@nova.edu if you have any questions.
