“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) “…the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17)
“…the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.” (1 Corinthians 1:21) “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,…” (Romans 1:16) “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)
Accepting hearts of god’s truth
Christ’s kingdom seed cannot sprout, grow and flourish without the heart. There will be no good fruit without accepting hearts. “And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.” (Mark 4:20)
Christ’s kingdom seed cannot sprout, grow and flourish without the heart. “And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit,...” (Mark 4:20) “…this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit…” (Matthew 13:23) “…these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast and bear fruit with perseverance.” (Luke 8:15)
Accepting hearts recognize whose message it is. Paul preached in Thessalonica (Acts 17:1-10). Christians had received and accepted the gospel for what it truly is (1 Thessalonians 2:13). “So then, those who had received his word were baptized;…” (Acts 2:41) “…who received the word with great eagerness…” (Acts 17:11)
Accepting hearts recognize whose message it is. Paul preached in Thessalonica (Acts 17:1-10). Christians had received and accepted the gospel for what it truly is (1 Thessalonians 2:13). Acts 2:41; 17:11 “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given.” (Matthew 19:11)
Cultivate your heart to accept what God says and demands of you. Soil must be cultivated to grow a good harvest (Luke 13:6-9; cf. Matthew 7:17, 18). Examples of men of faith who turned the soil of their hearts in the right direction. King Josiah (2 Kings 23:25) Ezra (Ezra 7:10) Daniel (Daniel 1:18)
Cultivate your heart to accept what God says and demands of you. The perfect law of liberty is a good gift (James 1:17, 25). The Father brings forth first fruits “by the word of truth” (1:18). Have you broken up the soil of your heart to accept the Father’s counsel?
Cultivate your heart to accept what God says and demands of you. “…But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.” (James 1:19-20)
