Moral / Honor Discussions AY17 Social module Moral facet of character: Internalization of the Army Values that results in the knowledge, integrity, and awareness to assess the moral-ethical aspects of every situation and the personal courage to take appropriate action regardless of consequences. The Cadet Honor Code: A Cadet will not lie, cheat, steal nor tolerate those who do. Honor Class 1: Plebe Pitfalls (4 CL) (07 SEP 17) 4 CL cadets identify conditions/situations which could lead to a potential lapse in integrity. Stressors of Cadet life and appropriate ways of dealing with stress (time management) Honor Class 2: Honor System Overview (2-4 CL) (05 OCT 17) Continue to educate Cadets on the system in which they have a major role in the stewardship Intent to build trust Honor Class 3: Cheating (2-4 CL) (07 NOV 17) Major historical pitfalls and integrating the DAW as a useful tool to understand intent Getting beyond the gray CCDP: Social Module 5

Social Discussions CCDP: Social Module 5 Social facet of character: The ability to act with the proper professional decorum in all professional, social, and online environments. SH/A Root Causes: Alcohol, Pornography, Hook Up Culture, Force/Coercion, Toxic Masculinity Social Discussion 1 (1-2 CL 25 SEP 17; 3-4 CL 04 OCT 17) (Prep: 15 SEP 17) Title: The Hook-Up Fallacy Understand the current Hook-Up Culture in American society—know the facts, dispel the myths, and be informed. Identify the characteristics of a healthy and enjoyable sex life. Distinguish between social and binge drinking; recognize the pitfalls associated with binge drinking. Root Causes Addressed: Alcohol, Hook-Up Culture Social Discussion 2 (1-2 CL 30 OCT 17; 3-4 CL 01 NOV 17) (Prep: 26 OCT 17) Title: Looking in the Mirror Distinguish between healthy and toxic behaviors. Understand how to properly receive consent in a sexual relationship. Develop the moral courage to intervene in uncomfortable situations. Root Causes Addressed: Toxic Masculinity, Force/Coercion CCDP: Social Module 5

Civic Discussions AY17 CCDP Civic Module 4 Civic facet of character: Demonstrates the empathy, loyalty, respect, and humility that enable an individual to treat others with dignity and to display selflessness 2-4 CL Discussion (18 OCT 17) Title: Building Cohesive Teams Provide an opportunity to address the values within a diverse team. Stress the importance of establishing and maintaining a positive command climate in one’s organization while leveraging the strengths and experiences of each member. Gain awareness on how to leverage diverse perspectives within a team. Provide an opportunity for Cadets to identify their personal biases and understand how they impact team cohesion and/or decision making. 1-3 CL Discussion (14 NOV 17) Title: National Climate Provide a forum for Cadets to discuss the controversial issues regarding race, gender and sexuality in current society. Explore how these issues influence their ability to build cohesive teams based on trust. 4
