Wear orange or yellow to look like The Lorax. Read Across America February 27th – March 3th Help celebrate Read Across America at Lemm! Read Across America is an initiative to encourage reading, created by the National Education Association. One part of the project is National Read Across America Day, held on the school day closest to March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. "You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child." Monday 2/27 Tuesday 2/28 Wednesday 3/1 Thursday 3/2 Friday 3/3 Horton Hears a Who Cat in the Hat Fox in Socks The Lorax Character Parade Wear crazy hats or crazy hair style. *Normal hair color must be maintained. Read in the rain. Put on relaxing rain/ white noise and read under desks. Wear orange or yellow to look like The Lorax. Work as a class to make a tree with your bodies and submit pictures for a vote. Vote as a class in Google Docs. Winning class tree will win mustache spirit sticks. Students will dress up as a character from a favorite book. Bring the book to read in class. There will be a parade during the day to celebrate reading across America. Wear Lemm shirt to show your school spirit! Students will buddy read with students from a different grade level to share and build their love of reading. K-3 1-4 2-5 Students can wear crazy socks. Write and wear your own tongue twisters and read each other's throughout the day.
