Time allowance: 4 hours a fortnight The idea is to cover all content by October half term of Year 11 to allow for time to revise. Order: Conflict and Tension, America, Elizabeth and then Medicine. Currently revision materials are being written as it is a new GCSE, however I would suggest a copy of the textbooks to be kept at home, these can be bought from amazon.co.uk

Although this should not dictate the choice, this should be noted. How it is assessed:

Paper one: understanding the modern world 1D America 1920-1973 1 hour 45 mins

Paper one: understanding the modern world conflict and tension 1918-1939 1 hour 45 mins

Paper two: shaping the Nation 2A Britain: health and the people 1 hour 45 mins

Paper two: shaping the Nation Elizabethan England 1 hour 45 mins

Possible Trips: Site Study: Old Operating Theatre: This changes each year dependent on what the exam board has specified. Old Operating Theatre: Possible trip to London to the old operating theatre.

Process The form will be available via Moodle to students NOW Students fill in the form either at home with parents or in school. The students will be taken by their tutors to the Learning Centre or computer rooms to fill in the form next week. It is not a “first come first served” process but I do need to know numbers for each subject Parents will then be informed by letter of choices made The further choices which will be made in Year 9 will have a separate but similar process.
