Bell Work Science SPI 0807.12.2 Electromagnets Tuesday, February 22, 2017 What are magnetic poles? Which poles attract each other; which repel? Where is the magnetic south pole located on earth? What is the difference between a permanent magnet and a temporary magnet?

Electromagnets An electromagnet consists of a solenoid wrapped around an iron core attached to a source of electricity Simple Electromagnet Iron Core Source of Electricity Solenoid F.Y.I. -Electric current in the wire produces a magnetic field which lines up atoms in the domains of the iron core forming an electromagnet.
