BUIDLING,CREATING AND INSPIRING TEACHER LEADERS BEING AWESOME FOR THE MINDS YOU TOUCH!!!!!!!!!

LIVING IN THE WILDERNESS OF DISCOURAGEMENT Twelve years ago I experienced a wilderness mentality of being a teacher. I did not see any light at the end of the tunnel. A retired teacher saw I was so discouraged that he pulled me aside and talked to me. His words, his encouragement was what I needed , but not what I wanted to hear. How many of us have become comfortable in our wilderness of discouragement? I pray after this session you be encouraged.

HOW DO I SEE MYSELF? LET’S DO A AN ASSIGNMENT. I NEED YOU TO WRITE DOWN FIVE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF PERSONALLY. THEN WRITE DOWN FIVE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF IN YOUR CLASSROOM. LET’S SHARE PLEASE. USING THIS TYPE OF SELF-REFLECTION WILL HELP YOU TO BE THE TEACHER LEADER YOU WERE MEANT TO BE.

WILL I THINK ABOUT MYSELF POSITIVELY? WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE A LEMON TEACHER DO YOU MAKE LEMONADE OR JUST SUCK ON THE LEMON? In Norman Vincent Peale book “The Power of Positive Thinking” he says,”a positive mental attitude believes that things are going to turn out well and you can overcome any trouble or difficulty.

SO WHAT DO WE DO TO BUILD UP TEACHERS IN A WORLD OF NEGATIVITY? Look for your strengths and weaknesses. Embrace them and say with each day I will get better. Persevere, have passion, and self-confidence along with self-respect. Ask for and pray for a positive teacher mentor and teacher family to help you along the way on the battlefield of teaching. Name a positive mentor and how they helped you along the ways in your teaching career.

ROLE PLAY I would like to to do a scene from a normal(lol) teaching day. I need two groups of four volunteer please to do the scenario. Everyone else please evaluate these groups after their performance and please be ready to input ideas after hearing their performance. Here is the scenario: You got observed by your principal. Unfortunately the walk through was a “HOT MESS”! You are sharing your observation with your colleagues whom you confide in. Colleagues what will you say to encourage that teacher? Pick a person who can theatrically behave upset and disturbed about the observation.
