A-608: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Learning Themes Building Effective Teams Organizational Culture Organizational Change Organizational Alignment Changing organizations from within (intrapreneurship) Building organizations (entrepreneurship) Organizational Learning Learning to Lead Leadership Entrepreneurship Learning

Why a course on Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Learning? Goal: to inspire you to become thoughtful, reflective, entrepreneurial leaders Do-it-yourself — not a counseling course Why? Indecision yet drawn toward leadership roles and intrigued by entrepreneurship Understand past motivations Assess skills/biases held Remove you from “the herd” Attention is your most precious resource…yet we live in a world that is biased toward action (vs. reflection) Structured reflection

Leadership, Entrepreneurship, & Learning Many kinds of issues & dilemmas demand this kind of attention: I want to lead others, but I want to be independent & self-sufficient I want to follow my heart and do what really gives me joy, but I want to be successful in society’s terms I want to help others, but I want to have my own life with a lot of personal control & autonomy I want to be an entrepreneur, but I don’t know what that means I want to be certain of everything, but now I am not so sure...
