Pease Elementary Improvement Plan 2016-2017

PS1- In the area of reading, all student subgroups did not meet the state standard of 60% mastery on the 2016 STAAR test. Annual Goal- At Pease Elementary 65% of all students and student subgroups will achieve mastery in the area of reading on the 2017 STAAR test. Interventions Ensure guided reading is done with fidelity and correctly K-5 Reading coach and reading specialists will be used to support and facilitate teacher trainings Data from iStation, running records, STAAR release tests, and unit assessments will be monitored closely to ensure growth Interventions will be planned for using data

PS2- In the area of writing, all student subgroups did not meet the state standard of 60% mastery on the 2016 STAAR test. Annual Goal- At Pease Elementary 65% of all students and student subgroups will achieve mastery in the area of writing on the 2017 STAAR test. Interventions Bi-weekly writing prompts K-5 4th grade writing class from master teacher STAAR release tests given beginning and middle of year Writing will be done across the curriculum K-5

PS3- In the area of math, all student subgroups did not meet the state standard of 60% mastery on the 2016 STAAR test. Annual Goal- At Pease Elementary 65% of all students and student subgroups will achieve mastery in the area of math on the 2017 STAAR test. Interventions Guided math will be done with fidelity and consistency K-5 Unpacking of TEKS will occur weekly to ensure teachers have understanding of content Planning will be monitored for best practices in teaching methods Tutors will be hired for daily support 3-5

PS4- In the area of Science, all student subgroups did not meet the state standard of 60% mastery on the 2016 STAAR test. Annual Goal- At Pease Elementary 65% of all students and student subgroups will achieve mastery in the area of Science on the 2017 STAAR test. Interventions Science will be taught and assessed K-5 using TRS Science is a pullout class in 4th and 5th Teachers will work K-4 to build science academic knowledge 5th grade will use the 5E model and stemscopes to support science content STAAR release testing will be used to assess growth and areas of concern
