A Place For Saints A saint is a particularly holy person, recognized by fellow believers as someone who lived a good life and who is in God’s presence after death.

What is a saint? What do we celebrate on all saints day? What date is all saints day? What day is before “all saints day”? How could you become a saint?

Homework Find information on a saint, try and find one that nobody else will have. You must find out: Name When they lived What they did When we remember them Something they said (if possible) A picture of them

The Church as the communion of saints The Catholic church teaches that all Christians have a special bond of unity. This unity is called the communion of saints. So we can pray for other Christians (who are in the communion of saints) whether they are alive or dead. We can ask other Christians to pray for us. We can still ask them to do this when they are dead. This is called interceding, we can ask them to intercede for us. This is why Catholics pray to saints and why there are often statues of saints In catholic buildings.

The Church as the communion of saints Can we pray for people after they have died? Why do Catholics pray to saints? Why do Catholics have a lot of statues of saints? “praying to statues is idol worship” Do you agree? Give reasons Why would some disagree with you?
