Subsystem Build & Test Review P16228: Magnetically Levitated Propeller

3D Printed Objects Propeller printed in the construct roughly 15 hrs ABS Plastic The construct opens at 9 am so we are unable to bring the propeller to display during the review Bernie volunteers to go and retrieve the construct at 9 am

Mechanical Sheets 24 in total

Electrical Systems Update Soldered first iteration of controller board There seemed to be a problem with the 24V power and the optocoupler This was most likely caused from components being overheated during soldering Soldering to a small, densely packed board can lead to parts accidentally being overheated. Second iteration of controller board and first iteration of sensor board arrived this week All components (along with backups) are in Soldering will start today (Thursday) Solenoid construction will start today (Thursday)

BeagleBone Black Update BeagleBone has flashed to the latest image. Need to setup static IP address for Beaglebone. (Putty Can’t detect it.) Need Linux OS (downloading Ubuntu on my old Laptop) Verify Putty can connect to Beaglebone Work and program along with Mike on Matlab (Simulink Integration) trouble shoot code Help Solder and testing Board with Eli

Poster (1st Draft) First draft of the poster, scheduled to be completed by week 5. Will be altered and additions made over the course of MSD II.

Needed Additions to Poster Subsystem Description Magnetic system ER & CR Are they satisfied? Test Results Did we meet our specs? Conclusion Evaluation Can the design be improved upon? Does the customer support the conclusion of the project Aesthetics background color pictures

Test Plans Updated test plans Created drawings as highest level reference Test plans are not based on individual subsystems Has a dimensioned drawing of the two printed circuit boards Created assembly plans Lists the components used with each board, along with their parts references and values Instructions on how to correctly solder the boards Lists documentation references: assembly and test plans Wiring guides for the boards Instructions for creating the solenoids

Updated Customer Requirements Removed all the requirements involving water Operable in a submersible Electricity isn’t conducted through water

Updated Engineering Requirements Removed all the requirements involving water Ensure complete sealing and moisture prevention
