Centre Gives Proclamations!

Centre Gives - History Centre Gives Established as an innovative granting program. Rather than Centre Foundation’s Grant Committee reviewing applications and deciding how to distribute grant money, Centre Gives puts this in the hands of the community. Under this new system, Centre Foundation’s grant dollars have reached many more organizations with a more diverse set of missions.

So, how big will YOUR organization’s Centre Gives grant check be?

Centre Gives - Facts Centre Gives The more money a non-profit raises, the larger their share of Centre Foundation’s $100,000 stretch pool of grant dollars. Additionally, there is $25,000 in additional prizes available during Centre Gives.

Centre Gives - Facts Three Goals of Centre Gives Raise money Non- profit organizations serving Centre County with diverse missions are welcome: arts, animals, education, environment, health & social services, etc. Raise awareness Concentrated spotlight on entire Centre County non-profit network for 36 hours Raise skill sets Share industry best practices with non-profit staff and board members that they can use during the 36 hours of Centre Gives, as well as 365 days a year.

How do people give? How do people give my organization money? Beginning at 8:00 am on Tuesday, May 9th, they can go to CentreGives.org to begin donating.

How do people give? Once “live,” the website will have a new look and expanded features. In “live” mode, the website will include a “Give Now” sub-header, where people can begin donating.

How do people give? The “Give Now” sub-header will appear on EVERY page of the Centre Gives website. Your organization’s page. Each prize page.

Donors begin filling this section out to initiate their donation. They’ll click the “Donate” button to continue to the next step.

On this next page, donors will complete the transaction with contact and payment information.

Donors have the opportunity to edit the amount and recipient organization, as well as add additional gifts.

Donors must click “Submit Donation” at the bottom of the page to process donation.

Donors must click “Submit Donation” at the bottom of the page to process donation.

Donors will see a confirmation page, indicating donation has been received.

Donors will receive an e-mail with the same confirmation and tax-deductible language to keep for their records.

How will donors find my organization? From the homepage, there are several ways that donors can search for your organization.

How will donors find my organization? All searches are “fuzzy,” meaning donors only need to use a keyword not the official name in proper order.

Organization Profile Pages What will my organization profile page look like? Each organization’s page will have three versions: Pre-Event Contact information Live-Event Donation Form appears Totals are updated Prizes won are listed Post-Event Final totals and prizes listed

Organization Profile Pages Organization Profiles are created from the information received during the application period. If you have any questions or requested edits, please contact Centre Foundation (the sooner, the better). Profiles are displayed on the website once all paperwork is received. Each organization has a unique url that directs donors straight to the organization’s profile page. This url is the same, no matter which phase the website is in (pre-event, live, post-event).

Refunds In the event that a donor needs a full or partial refund, please have them contact Centre Foundation and we’ll be happy to assist them during or immediately following Centre Gives. Please note that we encourage donors to check their statements so that we can process any necessary refunds in a timely manner.

When/how do we get our Money? After Centre Foundation staff members have reconciled all of the Centre Gives donations, refunds, stretch pool percentages, and prizes, each organization will receive a Disbursement Form to sign and return. This usually occurs early June. If you do not receive this form within that time frame, please contact our office.

Distribution Form Details For Centre Gives 2017, the participation fee is 5%. This covers credit card fees, which can range from 2-3%. It also defrays from expenses incurred by Centre Foundation, including staff members’ time, materials, promotional items, etc. As you know, there is always a cost to raise a dollar. Our goal is to keep this cost low for participating organizations. During Centre Gives 2016, donations were stretched an average of 16%. This is after the participation fee was deducted.
