WHAT IS PSEO? PSEO means that you attend a college PSEO means that you have a college transcript as well as a high school transcript Not all colleges have a PSEO program

PSEO CRITERIA & INFORMATION Juniors and Senior: Colleges set entrance criteria: North Hennepin CC Anoka Ramsey CC Hennepin Technical Anoka Technical Juniors (current 10th grade) top 1/3 of class Seniors (current 11th grade) top ½ of class Current rank or rank after Tri 2 Rank after Tri 3—possible but limited summer testing/orientation meetings May accept rank on nationally standardized test—PLAN or ACT—check the college

UMTC Minimum GPA of 3.6 unweighted Course rigor—AP/Honors/IB Very competitive Average GPA of PSEO students that are accepted: 3.93 unweighted Don’t find out status until June Might consider applying at other colleges in case of denial

Deadlines ARCC and NHCC Technical Colleges Univ of MN Twin Cities priority deadline April 15th—allows for best choice of open classes Final deadline—July 1 Technical Colleges July 15 Univ of MN Twin Cities April 7

Process Meet with your counselor Send in forms Complete next steps February or later is good time to start Send in forms Letter mailed/emailed to you that you are accepted Complete next steps Tech and Community Colleges: Take Accuplacer—must test college ready Attend Orientation Register for classes (usually middle of May) Adjust high school schedule

Scheduling May be full time at college May be at CPHS for part of day and college for part Course scheduling important- Must meet CPHS graduation requirements Can’t leave CPHS early to get to a college class

Grades All college grades are entered on your CPHS transcript District determines if course earns Honors grading Honors courses are listed on the district website

What to do this week? Must register for 15 classes you would want if you are at CPHS next year Meet with counselor in February or March if you do want to consider this option

PSEO Career and Technical Available for 10th, 11th, 12th grade students Only community and technical colleges offer this program Eligibility criteria: Must have taken the MCA Reading Test in 8th grade Must have a “score” of Meets or Exceeds

Classes Eligible students can take one identified Career/Technical course for one semester Must provide your own transportation STEP also has career/technical classes that can earn actual college credit
