VET higher education institutions in the emirate of Abu Dhabi ACTVET Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) Abu Dhabi Polytechnic (AD Poly) Programmes in engineering and aviation sector (bachelor, under- graduate diploma, higher diploma and certificate) Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS) Programmes in healthcare (bachelor, undergraduate diploma) Abu Dhabi Vocational Education & Training Institute (ADVETI) Al Jazirah Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi Al Jaheli Institute of Science and Technology in Al Ain Al Reef Institute of Logistics & Applied Technology in Al Shahama A diverse range of applied certificates and diplomas Baynounah Institute of Science and Technology in Al Gharbia ADVETI campus, Sharjah (former Sharjah Institute of Science & Technology); 79 federal and non-federal higher education institutions across the UAE recognised by CAA (as of October 2016) Vocational Achievement Programme Launched by MoE in collaboration with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) Implemented by HCT and ACTVET Commencing in 2016/2017 Vocational programme equivalent to the Level 4 Certificate of QFEmirates For Emirati high school graduates who can’t meet the admission requirements to the HEd institutions Provide educational opportunities for students of all academic performance levels Equip with skills and knowledge aligned with the needs of the UAE labour market in various fields, including electrical & mechanical maintenance engineering, aircraft maintenance engineering, IT, media, entrepreneurship, health & environmental safety, social & financial care 2016/2017 cohort: 800 students Duration: 2 years Graduates of the programme can enrol in diploma and baccalaureate programmes at HCT.

VET education in the emirate of Dubai National Institute for Vocational Education (NIVE), Dubai* Located in Dubai free zone Affiliated with KHDA KHDA overviews and quality assures their programmes In addition, KHDA is responsible for quality assurance of vocational non-degree programmes offered by the Emirates Aviation University, whose degree programmes are accredited by CAA, MoE. National diplomas: Business IT practitioners Finance and accounting Marketing Public relations Human resources Occupational health and safety Banking and finance Higher national diplomas: Business Computing Jewellery business development Other programmes: Bridge to work Skills for the workplace Training institutes registered with KHDA There are over 1100 training institutes (as of August 2016) registered with KHDA. Secondary vocational education Applied Technology High Schools (ATHS) Located in every emirate across the country Offer studies for grades 8-12. Students at ATHS in Baynounah, Al Gharbia, can apply to the school starting from grade 6. Offer academic core subjects, Core Program, combined with cluster-based courses customised in accordance with students’ interests and academic performance: Advanced Science, Engineering Science, Applied Engineering, Computer Science, and Health Science, and a number of specialisations within the clusters. Applied Technology Secondary Certificate upon completion Secondary Technical Schools (STS) Offer studies in grades 10-12 Focus on technical and technology education Programmes are articulated into ADVETI’s post-secondary institutions The UAE Ministry of Education Grade 12 Secondary Technical School Certificate upon completion ACTVET Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) Applied Technology High Schools (ATHS) Abu Dhabi Vocational Education & Training Institute (ADVETI) Secondary Technical Schools (STS) Vocational Education Development Center Vocational Education Development Center (VEDC) offers a Certificate of Applied Learning.
