How to become an officer?

Elections & Nominations

Elections & Nominations -Nomination EX: Member 1: “I name nominate name for the position of position.” Member 2: “I name second the nomination.” Nominee: “I name accept/decline the nomination.” -Election Day -Speech (Timed 1-2 minutes) -Caucus (Timed 1-2 minutes) Question and Answer -Vote -By ballot -Results

Elections & Nominations -Trickle Down Elections -Top- Down -President, VPA, VPS, Secretary, Treasurer -Running off the floor -Still needs to go through nominations process.

Attire Ballots Election Day CSUDH -Candidates -Business Professional -Gentlemen: Slacks, Button-Up, Tie, etc. -Ladies: Dress suit, Blouse, Appropriate skirt, etc. -Audience -Casual Ballots -Written Ballot -May vote for no-confidence -Counted privately in the presence of an advisor

Last Minute on Election Day -Anything can happen. -Speaker of the house. -Voting members: any dues paid member in good standings -Motions and changes the day of. -Guests and who can speak.

Results

Results Results will be announced immediately through trickle down elections. Otherwise will be announced the next week at the general meeting after the elections. No winner situations (all-levels)- -The board (club-executive, district-executive, international) shall appoint an individual to the position.

Being an Officer Leader: A guiding or directing head, a person that leads Officer: a person appointed or elected to a position of responsibility or authority. A person who holds a position of rank or authority. A person ‘licensed’ to take full or partial responsibility of an event or operation.  

Being an Officer General Officer Duties: -Attend all club and board meetings -Report on on-going and recent work -Meet all deadlines -Set personal goals -Chair an event -Submit Necessary paperwork/information -Communicate with other officers within the club -Communicate with other clubs and their officers -Recruit and retain new and old members -Familiarize oneself with the organization -Assist each other in anyway possible -Be willing -Represent and present Circle K club with dignity and respect -Give input at appropriate times -Listen to other officers, members, and advisors -Learn from past officers and past events -Educate incoming officers and members about necessary info -Be happy and proud to be an officer of Circle K  

Being an Officer Circle K International, also known as CKI, is the top collegiate and university community service, leadership development, and fellowship organization in the world. Our main focus is to serve our community in anyway that we can. We live for service but, developing ourselves as leaders and absorbing the fellowship is a plus that we are given.

Being an Officer Circle K International began as a fraternity in 1963 at Washington State University by the Kiwanis Club of Pullman, Washington. Motto: Live to Serve, Love to Serve Tenets: Service, Leadership, and Fellowship

CSUDH Circle K’s Sponsoring Kiwanis Club is the Gardena Valley Kiwanis Club. Thomas (Tom) Ramirez is our Kiwanis Advisor as well as Regional Advisor.
