Roga (VHTP)/ M. Miķelsons (SIA “Energoaudits”) 12:00-12:20 Available national support programs for improvement of building energy efficiency during the planning period from 2014 to 2020 M. Eliņš (AS “Altum”) 12:20-13:00 Discussions, coffee

Beginning of the Project VHTP – promoters of space industry development since 2009 2012-2015 – Project manager of the space technology cluster A challange to create practical application for the resources provided by the space Project as a thesis – can the current available images from the space provide actual visual overview?

Short Description of the Project Project „Study „Development of Regional Strategy for Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emission in the Building Areas of the Kurzeme Planning Region Using Remote Sensing Images and the Latest Technologies of Thermal Auditing”” The overall goal of the Project: to draw up a planning document aimed at reaching of the goals of EU 20/20/20 in Latvia, and particularly in the Kurzeme Planning Region. The direct goal of the Project: to draw up a strategy for the 5 largest municipalities in Kurzeme to increase the knowledge, capacity and ability of the municipalities to apply cost-effective types of initial energy audit by using satellite data and the latest thermal auditing technologies thus being able: to more precisely identify heat losses in buildings located in the territory of municipalities, substantially increasing the number and scope of the evaluated buildings; to better plan the necessary investments; to monitor the efficiency of measures for improvement of thermal stability.

Short Description of the Project (2) Controlling institution: State Regional Development Agency Partners: Ventspils High Technology Park IDN Research Ventspils University College Involved cooperation partners: «SunGIS» SIA “Energoaudits” SIA “NK Konsultācijas” SIA 5 Kurzeme municipalities: Saldus, Talsi, Kuldīga, Liepāja, Ventspils

Short Description of the Project (3) Project tasks: To study current activities of the 5 largest municipalities in Kurzeme regarding improvement of energy efficiency, and to gather the data of energy audit and thermal energy consumption; To create an interactive tool that integrates 3 types of maps and an address register: + + = To provide a strategic overview on fostering of improvement of the building fund energy efficiency, integrating comprehensive sectoral information, building data and visual material. Open Street Map OrtoFoto Termosatelīt attēls eeĢIS.lv

Project benefits Studies (Ventspils University College): Automatic selection of ground control points for high resolution remote sensing data in urban areas. (collection of the RTU scientific articles) – to be demonstrated; Data mining for monitoring of energy efficiency in buildings using remote sensing: Liepaja case study. (The IEEE JOURNAL OF SELECTED TOPICS IN APPLIED EARTH OBSERVATIONS AND REMOTE SENSING.) eĢIS – Development of Energy Efficiency Geographical Information System for Monitoring of Energy Efficiency of Municipal Buildings; Description of Case Study of the Largest Municipalities in Kurzeme. Comprehensive data on energy efficiency audits of buildings and thermal energy consumption data in the 5 largest municipalities in Kurzeme Development of the interactive thermal map analysis tool eeĢIS = energy efficiency geographical information system; Web site – www.eeGIS.lv

eeGIS.lv Capacity of the tool today: to provide a visual overview of a large area (city) that can be viewed in detail by zooming in; to gather comprehensive data and to analyse the data based on various factors and criteria; to export the data and review on Excel or CSV format, and to use the data in other data processing tools to create other type of data analysis; to provide visual comparison on changes of consumption of thermal energy in buildings by years and months. This allows adding tariffs so that the consumers can see the expenses. to add unlimited number of maps that allow reviewing the progress of improvement of energy efficiency of buildings by years; to find other solutions for future needs.
