Mayfield Primary School: Our new chapter

Fairtrade Fortnight

Which products do you recognise? What do they have in common?

Who deserves the fairest deal Who deserves the fairest deal? Big businesses or the producers (growers or farmers) of the product?

Fairtrade products commit to making sure that the producers and farmers get the fairest deal.

More money goes to the people who grow and farm foods and different products.

What difference can I make from Oldham? If you go to the supermarket, why not look for the Fairtrade logo on products? If there is a choice between buying a product that isn’t Fairtrade versus one that is Fairtrade, why not try to buy the product that is Fairtrade for a change? Your decision will mean that the farmers or producers of the product, get a larger sum of money to help them live and support their family. YOU and your family will have made that difference to the lives of someone else….all the way from Oldham, with people that you do not know or will probably never ever meet. That is a very special thing.
