Forming the Constitution DOCUMENT 1: Benjamin Rush in “Address to the People of the United States” before the Constitutional Convention began in Philadelphia, May 1787 Before You Read: The following words in the document below may be new to you: Corrupt - done Obviate Emit Currency Facilitate - done Look them up in a dictionary and add them to your lexicon now Read Document 1 and answer the 2 questions that follow.

Forming the constitution – 7th grade dbq project TASK: Using information from the documents in Part A and your knowledge of U.S. history, answer the questions that follow each document. (This will be complete by Friday, March 10th.) Your answers to the questions will help you write the Part B ESSAY, in which you: identify two weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation, and show how they were solved by the Constitution, identify a weakness that still remained in the U.S. Constitution when it was ratified. The week of March 13th will be essay draft week. Your final type written essay will be due on Wednesday March 22nd, 2017 You will participate in a class seminar at the conclusion of this project on Thursday March 23rd. In the seminar your will use your essay to participate in an evidenced based class discussion on this topic.
