Qualifications of the United States President

Zaner-Bloser Writing Assignment: The President's Character (Informative Essay) What are the most important characteristics for a president to have? The U.S. Constitution states that the President of the United States must be at least 35 years old and have been born in the United States. But there are obviously other requirements that a president must meet. In a detailed essay, describe THREE of the qualities that are needed in a president of the United States that can make him or her successful.

Directions—Step 1: With your group, make a list of personal qualities and/or qualifications YOU think US presidential candidates should have.

Discussion: If you were amending the Constitution of the United States, which requirements for the presidency would you keep? Which would you remove? Which might you add?
