The PSAT Wednesday, October 19, 8 am @ LCHS Cost—FREE! Bring: #2 pencils, calculator, snacks Required for juniors and sophomores (freshmen and seniors will be completing career and college readiness activities) The room assignment poster, for all students, will be posted in the main hall by the student office a few days before the test. Great practice for the SAT Students receive practice books in Seminar Will take the PSAT again Junior year to qualify for National Merit Scholarships

Weighted Grading System 30% Formative work No late work accepted 70% Summative Redos/retests/rewrites available

Weighted Grading System: Honors accountability, responsibility, and diligence by giving credit for practicing class skills through formative assessments Missing or being unsuccessful on some assignments will not wreck a student’s overall grade. Reward and account for skill acquisition by counting final assessments as the majority of the student’s grade. No late work policy for daily work: Formative assessments should be completed in order to best practice and master skills. However, no late work will be accepted for formative (practice) assessments. Redos for summative work: Students will have multiple opportunities to demonstrate, retest, or rewrite as necessary to prove that they have acquired and mastered skills over the course of the year.
