AYA Assessments: Rubric Charts and Narratives

1. AYA Instructors, I'm sorry that I'm soooo late with this assessment guideline.

Assessments consist of Brief comments/narratives (not to be confused with end of semester, narratives) Evaluations based on school-wide rubrics (homework, listening, class participation) Evaluation based on class-specific goals and instruction Examples of student work

Home Work / Listening / Class Participation 2. Use 3 charts that all instructors will report on for each class (modify if needed) Home Work / Listening / Class Participation

Areas Required in Rubric Conceptual Understanding by course Demonstrated Skills Applications / Projects 4 levels of proficiency Link assessment to work on their pages, where possible Twi Example LA Example

3. Create class appropriate rubric charts based on goals and lessons Rubric Template

Omidara-Math / Yinka-Twi 4. Rubric Examples Omidara-Math / Yinka-Twi Examples only

5. Use narratives / comments to supplement assessment chart and comment on ...

How students exhibit these values: Desire to learn Determination (problem solving, searching for answers, etc.) Justice / Respect of teacher, school and fellow students Cooperation / Reciprocity Balance (activity, temperament, in-class / out- of- class work, etc.) Creativity

Technology proficiencies / growth Given the tech demands of the class indicate student’s successes and challenges. We'll create a rubric for this over the course of the year. Right now, use your knowledge of the tech demands of your teaching and our online classroom assess student performance and readiness.

Use narratives/comments and the conversation also to: Explain items where more is needed. Make recommendations to parents for changes needed. Ask for what they need / want to see Give projections for goals / objectives for next period Medase Pa!
