1 Download the ISO file Location of the last release of Puppy Linux by Barry Kauler: http://www.puppylinux.org/main/index.php?file=Download%20Latest%20Release.htm Click on pup-431.iso at the website and save to your desktop. (105 MB file) MD5 Checksum: 561c83156b4dae5da0b6135b53d8c421

Integrity Check with MD5 2 Integrity Check with MD5 Start terminal and navigate to the location of the downloaded pup-431.iso Example using my computer: madmod@madmod-laptop:~$ cd Desktop Then compute the MD5 checksum: madmod@madmod-laptop:~$ md5 pup-431.iso When the uiliity finishes, check the MD5 string to see if it matches 561c83156b4dae5da0b6135b53d8c421 If so, you have a good download copy of the pup-431.iso. Exit the terminal screen.

Make a Bootable USB Puppy 3 Make a Bootable USB Puppy Insert your blank USB flash drive with at least 105 MB free. Open Applications | System Tools | UNetbootin Right-mouse copy pup-431.iso at your desktop. Select 'Disk Image' and right-mouse paste into the box. Check that the Type listed below found your USB drive probably at /dev/sdb (not your hard drive) and then click OK. The build of the USB bootable pup-431.iso should then complete. Right-mouse on the USB drive icon on the desktop and Unmount which then allows removal of the USB drive.

Running USB Live Puppy Linux 5 Running USB Live Puppy Linux With the computer off, insert the USB with Puppy Linux. Start the computer and get to the boot options screen – probably with F12. You may have to change the boot order in BIOS with F2 if this doesn't work. Start the computer with USB Live Puppy Linux.
