Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Planning: Fusion Framework & ServiceNow CIO Council Meeting Speaker: Gary or Nick Introduce Gary, Nick, Chris Reference that this project applies directly to the Business Continuity risk which Katie and Meredith champion and has implications on the IT Infrastructure and IT Security risk which Anne Margulies champions. Why this project?... Input from stakeholders of the Business Continuity planning process (BC Leads, Steering Committee, etc.) voiced the need for more actionable business continuity plans than the current business continuity planning system, Harvard Ready, could allow, i.e. Harvard Ready is more of a business impact analysis (BIA) tool than a tool that allows the user to produce procedurally-based plans that can be used during actual disruptions to university operations. Vision for the Fusion System Harvard’s ability to respond to and recover from disruptive incidents will be significantly improved by implementing the Fusion Framework system, a single platform for Harvard schools and departments to develop emergency response and business continuity plans, share information during incidents, and conduct post-incident corrective action tracking. ServiceNow

Discussion Questions Can local school/dept. level offerings/applications be captured in ServiceNow and fed to Fusion in order to maintain up-to-date dependency mapping between business functions and IT offerings/applications? How should  school/department-level DR planning be managed and how can this process be coordinated with University-wide DR planning?
