Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology (ECST) Commit to Excellence, Engage in Community Professional Practice Program (PPP) In preparation for PPP, internships, and career readiness, Students are encouraged to participate in hands-on student projects and competition teams, which include EcoCAR 3: Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition Cal State LA Civil Engineering at ASWC 2016 BMES Places in Top Five at Make-a-thon 2016  Source America's Design Challenge Cal State L.A. is one of only 16 North American universities recently selected to participate in the EcoCAR 3: Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition. In 2013, the University achieved 2nd place overall against top universities in North America in Year Two of the EcoCAR 2 collegiate engineering competition. ‪Cal State LA Civil Engineering‬ student teams who participated in the ASCE Pacific Southwest Conference #PSWC2016‬ - Long Beach! 1st place Surveying 2nd place Geowall 3rd place Environmental 3rd place Concrete Bowling A team of 5 undergraduates Cal State LA BMES students competed in and placed in the top 5 out of 15 teams at Makeathon 2016, a biomedical design competition hosted at USC Feb. 25th – 27th. the second consecutive year, worked with MVLE to create a suite of tools to assist employees with disabilities in several job areas, including picking up light objects, folding towels, folding boxes, and refilling restaurant sugar caddies. These improvements enable more employees to perform a wider array of jobs.
