P7 Home Learning T1 Maths Life Skills Own Choice Spelling Health Each week you should complete your reading pages, 45 minutes of Sumdog and at least 1 brick. You can decide which of the bricks you complete each week but you may not complete all of them. Bricks with a star MUST be completed before the end of term. Home learning will be shared in class on a Wednesday. Think carefully about the best way to record your work- MAKE, SAY, WRITE or DO (M,S,W or D)! Creativity is key! Maths Choose a ‘number’ topic (figure accuracy, rounding numbers, place value, multiplying by multiples of 10 etc.) that we have studied this term. Create a game / presentation to help other children learn about this skill. Choose a recipe and make it. Either write instructions or present in your own way the steps you took to make it. Also include an ingredients list. Can you take photos or bring some in to taste? Life Skills Create your own home learning task to share based on your interests. Own Choice Choose an exercise. Record how many times you can do it for 3, 5 or 10 minutes each day for 5 days. Challenge – make a graph to show your improvement. Look back over your spelling jotter for words that you need to practise or use this weeks words. Can you display your learning in a creative way? You could also practise Fry’s common words or pick your own. Remember M, S, W or D. http://bjh.dadeschools.net/assets/fry_complete_1000.pdf Spelling Health Choose a famous figure who made headlines for being kind. What did they do and what were there reasons behind doing this? What impact did it have? Why did you choose them? M,S, W or D. Presentation Choose a topical science subject. This could be coral bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef, an aspect of climate change or any other science news you may have read about recently. Display your learning in your own method. Could this be a video, experiment or report? Science Write about something you are grateful for. You can choose which style of writing this would be e.g reflective, new report, letter or diary entry. Remember your VCOP and to take a pink chilli challenged criteria sheet. Please use the appropriate word count on the sheet. Writing Choose a country in Europe. State information about the landscape, population, leisure, culture/ traditions and famous figures. Display your information in your own way. Geography Create a bank of problem solving questions, word problems or maths brain teasers. These should be aimed for children between p5-S1. You can choose the topic and how you display your learning. Maths Research a Scottish artist and recreate a piece of art in their style. Try to use a range of resources. Let us know if you need paper (larger than A4). Expressive Arts Using recyclable materials, create a model that has movement. Creativity is key! Technology 1
