My Career Project Bethanii Cloutier

Photography Photography Is my first career choice. I have taken Digital Photography and am taking Advanced Photography. Photographers take photos of people buildings or landscapes

Music Education I have been in band since I was in 4th grade. I have earned numerous medals from Solo and Ensemble and State Solo and Ensemble. I can play clarinet, tenor saxophone, percussion, it would be a good career because I know a lot about it

Working Conditions The working conditions for photography vary from each field of photography. Photographers who work with news crews typically have dangerous working conditions because they work with accidents and natural disasters. Portrait photographers work in studios and travel. Music teachers typically work in classrooms.

Qualifications To be a photographer you don’t HAVE to have a college degree but it would be very helpful with getting job positions. . To become a successful photographer you need to be familiar with computers, Photoshop and other photo editing software. It depends on what field of photography you want to go into to see what classes you have to take. If your going to be a scientific photographer you would take lots of science courses. You should have past experience with music and should take as many music classes as you can, and should have at least a bachelors degree. You would also have to know how to play most instruments.

Similarities/Differences Both photography and music are related because they are both art careers. For music you definitely need a college degree and in photography you don’t have to have one.

Earnings Photographers who don’t work with a business typically make 30-35,000 a year. Photographers who work in studios or with companies or magazines typically make 60-70,000 a year. I would consider photography to be a good career option because I have taken photography classes and enjoy it. Music teachers typically make 40-50,000 a year. I would consider music to be a good option for my career because music has been a big part of my life since I was little and I know a lot about it.

Career Choice The career that I chose was Photography. After high school I plan on going to a community college for a year or two then going to an art school to get my degree in photography. I am not sure yet what field of photography I want to go into. Hopefully one day I can own my own photography studio.
