What is romanticism? The period of Romanticism lasted from ca. 1800 to 1860 Is a literary, intellectual, art, and music movement that began in Europe in the late 18th century The movement rejected the principles of order, calm, balance, idealization, and even rationality This movement did spark up due to a reaction of the Enlightenment period George Stubbs, “A Lion Attacking a Horse,” 1770.
