What does the American Red Cross do? We provide immediate medical assistance and disaster relief for victims of events like Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 throughout our country. We also provide food, clothing and shelter to individuals dealing with personal tragedies, such as fires, hurricanes, tornados or floods.

What training does the American Red Cross provide? First Aid CPR Nurse Assistant AED and much more…

This training will provide you with the skills necessary to be a successful Nurse Assistant such as: How to take vital signs Range of motion exercises CPR/FA/AED Infection control Skills to assist in all daily living activities Medical Terminology Communication, teamwork and diversity skills for the workplace The NAT Program provides training for individuals interested in a career in the medical field working in a Hospital, Nursing Home, or Home Healthcare setting.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: Textbook, Student Handbook, Study Guides & all Skill Supplies Included in Tuition State-of-the-art classrooms & medical equipment 72 hours of classroom instruction taught by Registered Nurses 24 hours of hands-on clinical experience at a local nursing home 2 day review and pretest for the State Exam Job Fair with local employers Tutoring available before/after classes Graduation ceremony with American Red Cross Nurse Assistant Pin and Awards 2 year certification in CPR, First Aid and AED Day classes 4 weeks; Nights 6 weeks

The Alabama Department of Public Health Course Requirements The Alabama Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training is overseen by The Alabama Department of Public Health. Training courses are required to be a minimum of 75 hours of training, with at least 16 hours of hands-on clinical instruction. The American Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training Program follow theses requirements. We here at American Red Cross want to make sure our graduates are completely prepared to become Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA). 2013 – 2014 American Red Cross NAT Statistics 98% of enrolled students graduate from our program 94% of graduates passed the written portion of their state exam 91% of graduates passed the skills portion of their state exam
