2006 Cycle Tour – Centenary Celebration In celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the first church being built on African soil, a cycle tour is undertaken from East London - where the first congregation was established - to Cape Town where the first church was built. A core group of 12 cyclists undertake the 12 day journey covering a distance of 1 360km.

2006 Centenary celebration – Spirit Alive Chief Apostle W Leber pays his first visit to the Cape. This coincides with the centenary celebration of the first church building that was built on the African continent. The Palmyra Road church was dedicated on Pentecost, 4 June 1906 by Apostle C Klibbe. A special gathering is held in this church.

2008 New English Hymnal Chief Apostle Fehr in 2004 assigns District Apostle Barnes the task of co-ordinating the production of a new English hymnal. This becomes a collaborative project with the District Churches of Australia, Canada, Cape, South East Africa, USA and Zambia. The final meeting is held in Cape Town in November 2006 where agreement is reached that the new hymnal will comprise some 300 retained hymns from the previous hymnal, about 200 hymns from other sources and around 80 newly composed hymns. The new English hymnal is launched in May 2008.

2008 Youth Convention On Saturday 16 February about 8 000 young people stream into Ratanga Junction Theme Park in Cape Town. Some participants had travelled 2 000 kilometers to take part. The whole day is spent on enjoying the exciting rides and sharing a musical programme on stage with Chief Apostle Leber.

2008 Youth Convention The following day, Sunday 17 February, the young people gather at Newlands Cricket ground for a divine service with the Chief Apostle. In a poignant moment before the start of the service 1 000 red and white balloons are released to commemorate those who had died of HIV-Aids. The Cape Argus and Die Burger carry a detailed report of these events in their Wednesday edition.

2009 Preparation for Confirmation A week before their confirmation more than 4 000 young believers from the Cape District Church take part in an extraordinary divine service. Chief Apostle Leber visits the Tafelsig church on Palm Sunday, 5 April in order to prepare them for their confirmation. Who present can forget the memorable moment when he asks the confirmands to recite the confirmation vow and the packed church responds in unison.

2009 Meeting with Rectors On the Saturday before the divine service for confirmands the Chief Apostle holds a meeting for Rectors in Silvertown. After thanking them for their labours of love and providing them with a few hints on how to improve their service to the members, he takes time to greet each one of them.

2010 International Apostles’ Conference Chief Apostle Leber invites all the apostles from around the world for a conference in Cape Town at Pentecost. In addition to the conference which takes place on Friday 21 May the weekend’s agenda includes an excursion to Table Mountain, a bus tour around the Peninsula and a concert in the Silvertown auditorium.

2010 International Apostles’ Conference On Sunday 23 May Chief Apostle Leber holds a divine service in the Tafelsig church where all district apostles and 341 apostles are present. This service is audio-visually transmitted across the globe.

2010 NAC-TV The hosting of the International Apostle’s Conference in Cape Town means that the Pentecost divine service will be broadcasted internationally. Coinciding with this New Apostolic event is South Africa’s hosting of the FIFA soccer world cup. Acquiring airtime for broadcast purposes is therefore not easy. To ensure guaranteed transmission time for the Pentecost divine service, a longer term contract with extended broadcast time is entered into. The question arises: What will we do with the additional broadcast time – and NAC TV is born!
